We are pioneers, with more than 20 years of research, in the innovative use of Extracellular Vesicles (EVs). In the last 5 years we have dedicated our research on plant derived exosomes(PDEs) from vegetables deriving from Italian organic agriculture.
Exo Lab Italia is the first company in the world based on innovation, research, development, production and marketing of products based on plant derived exosomes(PDEs).

Thanks to our technology based exclusively on physical separation/concentration techniques, we obtain a nano-concentrate that contains 100% of the phytocomplex of the original plants, in a form that is immediately bioavailable to the body.

The Vegetable Exosomes that we purify and concentrate derive exclusively from Italian organic agriculture, to provide products representative of the biodiversity of our country, avoiding the accumulation of the toxic molecules used in intensive agriculture.

Sustainability

During the process of purification and concentration of Vegetable Exosomes we do not produce waste: our one is a circular economy in which all intermediate waste is recycled either in the production process or as organic fertilizer for agriculture’s use.

Exo Lab Italia has, in fact, a history that starts in the early 2000s. Since those years of absolute pioneering in the field of Extracellular Vesicles EVs, the group has published more than 50 scientific papers and reviews, ranking first in Italy and among the leading groups worldwide in terms of number of publications and citations.
The research activity has led to the discovery of innovative aspects, many of which are immediately translatable to the clinic. The discoveries underlying this research have led to some patents based on a method to detect, characterize and quantify extracellular vesicles in virtually all the human biological liquids; recent research activity has led to the presentation of a patent application focused on the use of Plant Exosomes.
Innovation and Research are our core activities that we carry out both directly within our Laboratory located at the Tecnopolo d'Abruzzo and in collaboration with the best Italian research institutes.

Our Technology

Plant Exosomes
Plant exosomes are nanometer in size and are carriers of molecules essential to life including proteins, bioactives, lipids, and nucleic acids.
Our technology is based exclusively on physical methods of separation (i.e. without the use of either chemical or alcoholic extractions), keeping the preparation intact and immediately bioavailable.
Using this method we have shown that the Exosomes purified and concentrated from fruits and vegetables from organic agriculture have a potent antioxidant activity, which derives not from a sort of pooling of individual antioxidants (eg ascorbic acid, glutathione, catalase), rather from their functional aggregation within a phytocomplex that is naturally formed within the vegetables with the purpose to multiply the function as compared to the single bioactives.
